Whew! I’m tired, and a bit cranky. I’ve had quite the adventurous morning. There was some funny hijinks this morning when Steven fell asleep with a glass of milk in his hand and it poured all over the already sleeping Jason. There was lots of activity as the humans dug their way out from under the covers, and the tall one stumbled to the bathroom to retrieve a towel from the linen closet. There’s a secret about our linen closet though - it has a small access door at the bottom of it, that lets the humans get to the back of the shower and the pipes, should anything ever need fixing in there. Occasionally this door opens on it’s own, but the humans are really good about making sure the linen closet door is closed tightly. It’s one of the few doors that shuts so tight that I can’t open by swinging on it (yes - I’m just that smart). But today I wouldn’t even have to try to get that door open - Steven left it open in his mid-sleep stumble to find a towel.
I’ve seen Skittzo go through the door more than once, only to return meowing at the front door a few hours later, wanting back in the nice climate-controlled house, where there’s always an ample supply of food. I’ve even poked my head in there once before I came right back out the door I went through when Jason heard me in there. Today, though, both of the humans were sleeping soundly.I decided to go exploring. In the closet. Down the hatch. Under the house. Out the vent. FREEDOM! - I was outside. The humans are still trying to figure out if i went on my own, or if I followed Skittzo, or she chased me… and that’s one secret I’m keeping (can’t get her in trouble, after all - I do have to live with her).
I enjoyed the outside for a few hours, but I only stayed in the back yard… or at least that’s where i was found by the humans when they woke up.. ruined all of my fun :\. I later learned that the fence in the backyard only goes half way around the yard, but yet I was trying to jump over it - next time I’ll know to just walk around and save my energy. Finally - outside without my leash - and Steven had to come and find me. I spent the rest of the day sulking and whining, just watching the outside world, because they made me go back inside. I like the outside, but I like the inside better. Jason & Steven let me go outside occasionally, but only with my harness and leash. I’m slowing learning to like it, and when I get more accustomed to it, maybe I’ll go outside more. It’s nap time for the kitty now

I’d like to welcome a lot of new readers to my blog, both my fellow kitties and the humans they spend their lives with - thank you all for leaving some wonderful comments. After some feedback, I’ve asked my human, Jason, to help me make the font size bigger so it’s easier to read when I write, and to make some other updates to the site, like making the comments easier to read, and the main page wider. So today you may see the blog look a little crazy here and there as we update it, so just bear with us, and enjoy some catnip as you wait, I’ve got some extra to share. Also, I’ll be adding some of my kitty friends to my blogroll too - and I can’t wait to read some more of your posts.

My Jason had an accident a few days ago, and he hasn’t been able to help me blog this week, so my apologies for that. He says that his finger is getting better and he should be able to help me type up some fun stories in the next day or two, so I’m purring in excitement! In the meantime, check out some of my new friends in the blogroll…
In the meantime, I’m keeping him company, and his finger and lap warm - he says I’m such a good kitty… (tee hee - I know) since I take care of him when he’s sick and hurt. Here’s a photo of his boo-boo:

First, I suppose I should welcome you to my blog! It’s not often that us cats get their own blog, much less their own website, but I’m a little spoiled (or so I’m often told). The person that I share my life with (he’s a human named Jason) is a very techy-type person, and he thought that it’d be cool if I could share my life on the web. Notice I didn’t say ‘my owner’, because I don’t believe that anyone can ‘own’ an animal, but rather they choose to share their lives with them, and all are happy. My name is J.C., and this will be where I tell all of my kitty-tales, thoughts, and share my pictures with you.
So anyways, now that the formalities are out of the way, onto the fun stuff from the day. As you may or may not know, I strictly live inside the house. I never go outside, as it’s a big huge scary world out there, and I prefer to stay inside where the temperature is controlled, my food and water are always within reach, and I have tons of toys to play with. Basically I live like a king. In fact, I pretty much run the house, and am here more than Steven & Jason are, since I always stay inside.
Today I got to go on a little adventure though. Jason bought me a harness and lead last year, but we never got to use it because I didn’t like to put the harness on. However today Steven talked me into wearing the harness, and the three of us went outside into that great unknown place for a few minutes. I have been outside twice before - once when I was a tiny little kitten, and once to the mailbox and back. I didn’t really like it either time - it’s just not my thing. Too much work to stay safe and comfortable I think. Anyways, here are some photos of my adventure today.

Although 90% of the time I prefer to sleep in the bed with Jason & Steven, occasionally after a long night of play I end up falling asleep on the washer at the other end of the house. Last night was one of those nights, as you can see in the photo that Jason took of me below. I know, it’s not the most respectable photo ever taken, but hey - I was comfortable, so I really didn’t care. Click on the photo below to make it larger.

Later on I ended up under the covers with Jason, which is for the most part, where he finds me every morning when he wakes up. I do like to sleep on his chest when he’s alseep… I think it’s the rhythmic breathing that helps me sleep better, but at some point during the night I always seem to be there. And when he’s got scruffy on his chin I like to lick and paw on his chin wake him up - he thinks it tickles though, and doesn’t like it. Hmm… I’m beginning to think I’m just the tiniest bit spoiled… *meow*
I slept thought most of this week’s American Idol.. all curled in the floor beside Jason. I usually watch it with him, but I’ve been so active today that once I got still I just could not keep my little kitty eyelids open any longer. It was so loud that I did get to hear some of the songs in my sleep, and I was pawing in the air when Blake was singing.. I really like him, especially tonight when he beatboxed a lot.
Skittzo, who is the other kitty that lives here too doesn’t like TV too much, and slept though it on top of the dryer. Damn her - that’s my spot, she steals it quite often though. *meow* Actually, I don’t think I’ve introduced any of you to her. Skittzo is Steven’s kitty and she is a couple of years older than me, so she’s about 4 now I suppose. We get along sometimes, much better now than we did a few months ago. Since she’s gotten more accustomed to me, she tends to act more like a kitten a lot, I think it’s because of jealousy, hehe.. but I still love her. I like to play and pounce a lot, and she acts too stuck up for that most of the time, and would rather play by herself. Occasionally I’ll still tackle her, which almost always leads to us romping through the house together playing for at least a few minutes.

One of my favorite things to play with sometimes are empty paper towel rolls. Oh yea - I’m priming my paws, as this is my very first blog post ! Welcome to JC The Kitty [dot] com !
